The latest fire was reported about 9:13 p.m. Thursday, burning a tree at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Cherry Lane.
Boise police say it appears to have been intentionally set, and detectives are investigating this suspected arson along with four others in the area in the past two weeks. Of the five fires, the last two caused damage to the outside of residential structures, police said in a news release Friday. Several of the fires were set in or outside garages at the Oak Park Village apartments. No injuries have been reported.
Boise police detectives are asking that anyone who may have video or pictures of Thursday night's fire or any of the previous fires to call non-emergency dispatch at 377-6790. Residents are also urged to report suspicious activity immediately to 911 and pay extra attention to people on foot or bicycle, particularly in the late evening to early morning hours.
Tipsters also can contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS (2677) or online at www.343COPS.com.
