Kuna man convicted of sexual battery of a child
A Kuna man was found guilty of having sexual contact with three different girls since the summer of 2015, according to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Jakob Moench, 25, could face up to 12 years in prison for two counts of lewd conduct and two counts of sexual battery of a child between the ages of 16 and 17 years old. But, Judge Patrick Owen, who ruled in Moench’s case, put the man on a rider, which means after a year Moench can be evaluated . Then Owen can determine whether Moench will serve a prison sentence or be placed on probation, according to the release.
ASCO began investigating in January when a third party informed deputies that Moench was engaging in sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.Three days later, the girl was reported as a runaway. Law enforcement found her at Moench’s home. Shortly after that, a family of a different girl contacted authorities reporting their child had undergone similar abuse from Moench. A third victim subsequently came forward, according to the release.
Moench pled guilty in March.
