Isaac Matthew Hernandez, 26, has pleaded guilty to three felony counts of injury to a child last week in connection with injuries to his infant son in fall and winter 2014.

According to a criminal complaint, Hernandez neglected to feed the infant, squeezed him until his ribs broke, hit him in the face and genitals and fractured his legs by yanking and twisting them. The baby was not yet three months old when he died in late December 2014.

Hernandez, who was arrested last summer for injuring the infant, was not charged with causing the little boy's death.

Five other charges of injury to a child and infliction of great bodily harm are scheduled to be dismissed in exchange for the three guilty pleas. Sentencing is set for Aug. 23. Felony injury to a child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
