3 men arrested in Boise Bench stabbing
Three men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the stabbing of a man early Sunday near West Emerald and North Roosevelt streets.
Callers notified a police dispatcher of a possible crime at 4:17 a.m. Sunday. Officers found a man with multiple knife wounds who told them that several of his belongings had been stolen.
The man, who was seriously injured, could not describe who attacked him or where the stabbing had taken place.
On Monday, investigators found evidence linking the victim to an earlier altercation at a park off Americana Boulevard. With that information, police were able to identify several suspects.
Damian A. Ayarzagoitia, 38, and David E. Blong, 20, both of Boise, were arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery and three counts each of burglary. Joseph A. Peterson, 20, with no permanent address, was charged with aggravated battery.
The three men were arraigned Thursday in Ada County Magistrate Court.
Boise police continue to investigate the incident.
Ayarzagoitia has previous convictions in Ada County for battery, forgery and propelling bodily waste at a correctional officer. He was released from prison in August after serving time for a 2010 Nampa burglary.
Blong has convictions in Ada County for cruelty to animals and disturbing the peace, for assault in Canyon and Kootenai counties and malicious injury to property in Kootenai County.
Peterson has Canyon County convictions for resisting or obstructing officers and for marijuana possession.
