Seven teens charged in rash of Meridian car burglaries

Meridian police have arrested five juveniles and two adults in connection with a rash of car burglaries in Meridian over the last four weeks.

The juveniles — two girls and three boys ages 15 and 16 — were reportedly caught in the act of burglarizing vehicles in the early morning hours May 12, Meridian police said Thursday. They are charged with burglary, accessory to criminal conspiracy and grand theft by possession.

Also arrested were two adult Meridian residents, police said. Isiah Salas, 19, is charged with grand theft by possession in connection with a stolen gun, and Casey Huston, 18, is charged with accessory to vehicle burglary, grand theft by possession and residential burglary.

Police recovered three handguns, two of which were confirmed stolen in local burglaries, in addition to miscellaneous stolen items.

More charges and more arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues, Meridian police report.
