Carlie Trent, 9, of Rogersville, Tennessee, was possibly spotted in Mountain Home Tuesday.

Video surveillance, witness interviews and photographs submitted to the Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation have determined that the van that was seen at the Jade Palace Restaurant last night in Mountain Home is not the van Tennessee is lookinf for in an Amber Alert, Mountain Home police said.

“There were very close similarities which made it difficult for investigators to validate,” police said in a news release Tuesday evening. "We are very thankful that our witness came forward and reported what she saw so that we could investigate.”

Carlie Trent, 9, of Rogersville, Tenn., was declared missing May 9 after she was taken out of schoolby her aunt’s husband, Gary Simpson, who has no custodial rights.

An employee from the Jade Palace told investigators she saw a white van with Tennessee plates and a suspect and girl who matched police descriptions early Tuesday.

Idaho State Police issued a news release Tuesday afternoon saying that Tenessee authorities have “received calls about possible sightings from 11 different states and ... at this point in time TBI does not believe that there is enough evidence to issue the AMBER Alert for Carlie in Idaho.”
