California man faces Boise charges of stalking, battery

Scott Collinson, 33, of Fairfield, Calif., is accused of inappropriately touching a woman in a Boise business last month and stalking two girls in December, Boise police said Friday.

Collinson was arrested Thursday in California on two counts of felony stalking and a misdemeanor charge of battery. He is expected to be extradited to Idaho, police said.

Both incidents happened in the businesses near North Milwaukee Street.

On Dec. 21, police were called to a store at Milwaukee and Franklin Road, where two girls under the age of 15 reported a stranger followed them and asked questions about the clothes they were wearing. On April 2, a woman in a business in the 600 block of North Milwaukee told police an unknown man asked questions about her clothes and touched her inappropriately.

After reviewing video surveillance and conducting interviews with involved parties, Boise police identified Collinson as the suspect in both cases. Anyone with information about similar incidents that might involve Collinson is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
