A 64-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of South Development Avenue and West Robinson Road around 2:45 p.m. Friday, according to a Boise Police Department press release.

Tyler C. Martinez, 24, of Boise, was reportedly driving north on Development Avenue when he crossed the center lane and moved into the southbound lane, hitting the pedestrian. Witnesses told police the driver continued driving north after the accident. But Martinez stopped when he reportedly crashed the vehicle into a fence, according to BPD.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, but died. The Ada County Coroner plans to release the pedestrian’s name once his family is notified, according to the release.
