Nampa stabbing victim dies; police search for his killer
The 30-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen during an argument with another man outside a West Kinghorn Drive home shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday and died in a Boise hospital overnight, Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Riha said Friday.
Investigators are following varied leads and talking to a witness but haven’t identified a specific suspect in the homicide, Riha said. So far only a general description has been publicly released: white male with short brown hair, glasses and a long-sleeved shirt.
The victim, who reportedly knew his assailant, also hasn’t been publicly identified, and Riha said officials were working to notify next of kin. No information on the victim was available from the Ada County Coroner’s Office Friday afternoon.
The assailant reportedly fled the scene in a cream- or tan-colored 1990s Dodge pickup truck which had a brown stripe and, possibly, Jerome County license plates.
Police have identified a woman, 27-year-old Ashley Ford, who was with the attacker when he fled, and are looking for Ford as a “person of interest.”
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Nampa police at 465-2257 or Crimestoppers at 343-COPS.
