Cheyenne Bodie Mayo, 55, is accused of trying to run over a Garden City police officer during a traffic stop Wednesday night after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop in Boise a short time earlier, the Ada County Sheriff's Office reports.

Mayo remained in the Ada County Jail Thursday on $150,000 bond, charged with felony aggravated assault and attempting to elude a police officer. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of eluding arrest.

The chain of events began around 11 p.m. Wednesday when a Boise police officer attempted to pull over a Ford F-150 that was swerving on State Street near Downtown Boise. The driver, later identified as Mayo, did not stop but instead sped west on State Street, according to police.

A short time later, a Garden City police officer and an Ada County sheriff's deputy saw the same truck swerving in and out of its lane on State just past the Edgewood Lane intersection. This time, the pickup stopped for the officers, but after the officers got out of their cars Mayo drove away, heading toward the Garden City officer, and resumed heading west on State, ACSO reports.

A second ACSO deputy put spike strips down on the road, and the truck finally pulled over west of Linder Road, with at least one of its tires shredded. Mayo was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail, where he remained Thursday evening.
