Driver who struck 5-year-old bicyclist pleads guilty
Scholastique Twagirayesu, 41, of Boise, pleaded guilty to a citation of inattentive or careless driving Friday, according to court documents.
Twagirayesu had been cited for striking bicyclist Max Wyatt, 5, with a mini van Sept. 23. Wyatt was dragged under the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. After two months in a hospital and multiple surgeries Wyatt returned home to Boise.
Twagirayesu entered a guilty plea on Friday, and was sentenced to a year of probation. Twagirayesu will be required to take a driving class and 150 hours of community service. A jail sentence of 90 days was suspended, according to court documents.
