Boise police are still investigating sexual assault

The woman who reported a sexual assault while walking in West Boise in late January has retracted her story, but police said Thursday that it appears some sort of assault did happen.

Boise police reported Wednesday night that their investigation didn’t support the woman’s story of being attacked by a stranger in the area of West Hickory Court and North Wheaton, and the woman has recanted that report.

The woman is not being charged with making a false report to law enforcement, police said, and an active investigation continues into a sexual assault. There are no outstanding suspects in the investigation, police said.
