Kenneth Frank Morehouse, 57, was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to his shoulder, then booked into the Ada County Jail, the Ada County Sheriff's Office reports.

Two officers went to a home in the 6200 block of West Long Branch Lane about 2:45 p.m. Monday after a relative reported a man was threatening to harm himself, according to a news release.

"Within seconds of making contact with the man, the 57-year-old pointed a gun at the deputy," the sheriff's office reports.

Deputy Cory Feldman, a 15-year veteran of the ACSO, shot Morehouse once in the shoulder, the news release continued.

Morehouse is charged with felony aggravated assault. One other person was in the home with him at the time of the shooting, the sheriff's office reports. The house is located off North Seamans Gulch Road near Hidden Springs.

Paramedics took Morehouse to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. He was released from the hospital a few hours later and taken to jail.

All uses of lethal force by a law enforcement officer are independently investigated by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force. Boise police will lead the investigation into Monday's shooting.
