Fish and Game seeks person who shot, wasted mule deer along Idaho 21

Citizens Against Poaching is offering a reward for information on the poaching, which happened some time during President's Day weekend, according to an Idaho Department of Fish and Game news release.

Fish and Game conservation officer Ben Cadwallader found the young buck mule deer dead in the Boise River Wildlife Management Area across the highway from Lucky Peak Nursery north of Boise, according to the news release. There is no open hunting season for mule deer anywhere in Idaho during this time of year.

Evidence was collected at the scene, but Cadwallader hopes to learn more about the case from an eyewitness or others who have knowledge of the poaching incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Citizens Against Poaching at 1-800-632-5999. Callers may remain anonymous. Or call the Fish and Game Nampa office at 465-8465 on weekdays or Idaho State Police, 846-7550, on weekends.
