Meridian police arrested two men on heroin charges Sunday evening, according to Tracy Basterrechea, deputy chief of the Meridian Police Department.
Officers, responding to a call reporting a suspicious vehicle, found a silver Honda Civic without license plates parked near the intersection of West Pebblestone Street and North Marburg Avenue. In the vehicle were Chandler Clark of Boise and Tanner Hendricks of Meridian, both 20 years old. Hendricks was reportedly shaking and had bloodshot eyes.
A search of the vehicle produced 19 grams of heroin. Police say they also noticed paraphernalia in the vehicle, Basterrechea said.
Idaho has seen an uptick in heroin arrests and overdoses over the past decade.
