Nampa man gets up to five years on domestic violence charges

Damien N. Lindahl, 29, must serve at least two years in prison before he is eligible for parole for an October 2015 attack on a woman.

His sentences of up to five years for aggravated assault and domestic violence will run concurrently.

The victim told police Lindahl, beat, strangled and threatened her with a knife, at one point choking her until she lost consciousness. She said he had threatened to kill her on five or six occasions in the past. During the October incident he was on probation for felony violation of a no contact order intended to protect the woman.

“This case is heartbreaking ... because Mr. Lindahl shouldn’t have been able to get close enough to the victim for something like this to happen,” Canyon County Prosecutor Bryan Taylor said in a news release.
