Boise police ask for public’s help in finding man who carjacked cabbie

A Boise cab driver told police that a passenger in his vehicle punched him in the face multiple times and then drove off in his car early Monday morning.

The incident was reported at 2:39 a.m. Police were summoned to a report of a robbery at the intersection of West Curling Drive and Cashmere Road.

The cab driver told police that his passenger began hitting him when he stopped at the intersection, so he got out of the car. The assailant got into the driver’s seat and drove away.

The victim declined medical assistance. His vehicle was found in the area later in the morning.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned adult male, possibly in his early 20s. The man had short hair and wore a black baseball cap and a red T-shirt.
