Alleged Caldwell car thieves apprehended after pursuit
Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, Caldwell police officers located a stolen 2000 Pontiac Grand Am near an apartment complex in the 100 block of Abraham Way, off Caldwell Boulevard.
The suspects in the theft, Matthew E. Williams, 33, and Brayden C. Glenn, 19, left the scene in a 2007 GMC Yukon. Police attempted to pull over the vehicle, but Williams, who was driving, refused to stop.
Williams drove east on Caldwell Boulevard, heading into Nampa and turned south onto West Karcher Road. Near North Midway Road, Williams left the road and got stuck in a field.
The two suspects fled on foot but were soon captured.
Williams and Glenn were treated at the scene by Canyon County Paramedics after showing signs of hypothermia. They were then taken to the Canyon County Jail in Caldwell.
They were each charged with grand theft by possession and resisting and obstructing officers. Williams was also charged with driving without privileges and eluding a police officer. Glenn was charged with a probation violation and also held on a warrant from Payette County.
Nampa Police and the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the apprehension and arrest.
