Caldwell man gets federal prison for distributing meth

Clifford R. Crabtree, 32, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court to three years and 10 months in prison, Idaho's U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.

Senior U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered Crabtree to serve three years of supervised probation, during which he will be prohibited from associating with gang members.

According to court records, law enforcement officers received information that Crabtree, a documented Southside gang member, was selling methamphetamine. Officers used a confidential source to buy methamphetamine from Crabtree on two occasions in 2014, according to court records.

The case was investigated by the multiagency Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crime Task Force.
