Garden City Police arrest suspect in multiple burglaries

Garden City Police arrested a man Wednesday suspected of being involved in several burglaries, according to a police press release.

Benjamin Engle, 25, of Garden City was arrested and charged with felony counts of burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property and possession of illegal drugs.

Officers had been investigating a report of a stolen utility trailer on the 500 block of East 45th Street, when they found the trailer on a residential lot. The resident on the lot, Engle, had other items on the property that police identified as stolen, according to the release.

They found items connected to at least six other burglaries, and police hope they can return some of the items back to their owners, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing so police are asking for additional information from the public. Anyone who knows anything about the burglaries or the suspect are asked to call Garden City Police Department at 208-472-2950 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-2677.
