A Meridian man was arrested and charged with two felonies after crashing into a Nampa restaurant early Wednesday morning, according to the Nampa Police Department.

Michael Ball, 41, of Meridian, was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger north on 12th Avenue South when he attempted to turn west onto 2nd Street South, but veered too wide, said Sgt. Joe Ramirez.

Ball reportedly crashed into a Nampa street lamp and the Hong Kong Restaurant, at 117 12th Ave. S., Ramirez said.

“A construction crew was out there this morning and it looks like he wiped out the two front doors,” Ramirez said.

Nobody was inside the restaurant at the time of the crash, and Ball was the only occupant in his vehicle.

Nobody was injured, Ramirez said, but the damage will cost several thousand dollars to fix.

Ball was charged was felony DUI and felony possession of a controlled substance, according to NPD.
