Police: Suspect in Boise convenience store robbery arrested

A Nampa man was arrested Thursday for reportedly robbing a Boise convenience store, according to a Boise Police Department release.

Leopoldo Hinojosa Jr., 22, of Nampa, is suspected of taking an undisclosed amount of cash from a convenience store near the intersection of West State Street and Ellens Ferry Drive around 1:40 a.m.

Witnesses told police they saw Hinojosa walk into the store and demand cash from an employees, then take the money and drive away in a truck that had been parked in the parking lot. He drove west on State Street to flee the scene, according to BPD.

Police searched the area and found the vehicle shortly. They pulled Hinojosa over near the intersection of State Street and Eagle Road and took him into custody. Hinojosa is charged with felony robbery, police said.
