Boise police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed the Wells Fargo bank at 7700 Fairview Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Witnesses told police a man demanded money from a counter clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen headed out the door of the bank, which is near the corner of West Fairview and North Cole Road.

The incident was reported at 5:11 p.m. as an armed robbery, but initial information from police did not address whether the robber displayed a weapon.

Witnesses and surveillance photos portray the man as about 6 feet, 1 inch tall with short graying hair under a baseball cap, a graying goatee and a neck tattoo. He wore a black shirt with a colorful design on the front.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call non-emergency dispatch at 377-6790 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
