A viewing and reception are scheduled Sunday for Chelsey Rae Malone, 23, who was fatally stabbed in front of her Berlin Place home Wednesday afternoon.

Her boyfriend Brandon Shaw, who reportedly confessed to Nampa police, was arraigned in a Canyon County courtroom Friday, with a preliminary hearing scheduled Dec. 3 to review the evidence against him. Shaw, 23, is charged with first-degree murder, assault with intent to commit a felony, burglary and two enhancements for the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Shaw told a detective he was moving out of the home the two had shared for about a month and returned to the house Wednesday to pick up some things and to kill her. He said he tried to shoot her, then chased her out of the house with two knives and stabbed her repeatedly, according to the affidavit.

Malone, who had three sons between the ages of 1 and 4, died a short time later. The children are in the care of her parents, Bill and Vicky Malone of Caldwell.

Chelsey Malone will be memorialized from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguan Chapel, 415 12th Ave S.
