E. Oregon man pleads guilty to 2013 robbery of Boise convenience store
Jonathon E. Whitlow, 24, of Baker City will find out his fate early next year, the Ada County Sheriff's Office reports.
Whitlow pleaded guilty to felony grand theft and aggravated assault Friday as part of a plea agreement with Ada County prosecutors. Charges of robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony were dropped as part of the agreement.
Whitlow admitted going into the Maverik store at 3080 S. Five Mile Road Dec. 3, 2013, pulling out a handgun and demanding money from a clerk. The robber wore a gray cloth over the bottom of his face and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, ACSO reports.
A description of the robber went out to local media, along with a security video of the hold-up. Detectives followed tips and evidence to identify Whitlow as a suspect, and Ada County prosecutors issued a warrant for his arrest in September.
Whitlow is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $250,000 bond as he awaits sentencing, which is set for Jan. 8.
