Caldwell man sentenced to up to 60 years for lewd conduct with children

A Caldwell man was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years in prison without parole and an additional 44 years with parole after being convicted on two counts of lewd conduct and one sexual abuse charge, according to a Canyon County press release.

Bryce Transue, 31, of Caldwell was charged in April 2014 after an 11-year-old girl reported that he sexually abused her and she might be pregnant, according to the release.

It was later discovered that he had sexually abused another girl, who was 6 years old at the time of the abuse, according to the release.

“I can only say that this is one of the worst, if not the worst case of sexual offending I have ever been involved with,” Third District Judge George Southworth said at the sentencing hearing.

Transue will be required to register as a sex offender and pay a $5,000 civil penalty to each victim, according to the release.
