Nampa Police looking for possible witness to attempted rape

Nampa Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a possible witness to an attempted rape of a young woman in a parking lot in the 300 block of West Iowa. The attack took place at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.

The suspect was driving what has been described as a dark colored SUV similar to a Toyota 4-runner. The vehicle left at a high rate of speed with its headlights off as it drove out of the parking lot. It almost collided with a white passenger car that was on Iowa heading towards Midland from 12th Ave. Road. Detectives would like to speak with the driver and occupants of the white car as they may be able to provide a better description of the suspect vehicle or the suspect.

The attack and the near collision all occurred near the medical businesses located in that section of Iowa Avenue near the Wilson Drain to the west of 12th Ave. Road.

The suspect is described as a light skinned, medium build, male about 5’5” to 5’8” tall, in his 20s to early 30s with dark medium length hair. The suspect was wearing dark clothing and is possibly clean shaven.

If anyone has any information regarding the near collision or any information regarding the attack, they should contact Detective Kari Siebel at the Nampa Police Department at 208-475-5715 or via email at siebelk@cityofnampa.us.
