CRIME ALERT: Nampa police ask for public’s help in finding attempted rape suspect

A woman was walking in the 300 block of West Iowa Avenue at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday when she was reportedly attacked by a man who forced her to the ground, police said.

She had parked her car, walked across the parking lot and was on a small path when she was forced to the ground, police said.

Another person arrived in the parking lot, so the attacker ran to his vehicle — a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner type of SUV, police said He reportedly drove east onto Iowa Avenue and then turned north onto 12th Avenue Road.

Witnesses reported that the man almost struck a passenger car as he turned onto Iowa. Police are seeking information from the driver of the vehicle that was almost hit, or anyone who may have seen the SUV on Iowa or 12th Avenue.

The attacker is described as a light-skinned, medium-build male about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 inches tall, in his 20s to early 30s with dark medium-length hair. The man wore dark clothing and is possibly clean-shaven.
