Her 18-month-old twins were found dead. Idaho mother now faces murder charges
A former Payette woman has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to a social media press release from the Payette Police Department.
On Monday, a Payette County grand jury returned an indictment for 23-year-old Andrea Shaw in the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, the release said.
Shaw, who was arrested on Tuesday by the Boise Police Department while in the city, is in the Ada County Jail awaiting extradition to Payette County, where she will be arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder.
Payette police were originally called to a home in the 1300 block of North 9th Street on May 1, 2025, in response to a 911 call about a reported child death, according to a May 2025 Facebook post from the Payette Police Department.
When police arrived at the home, they found deceased 18-month-old twins in a shared bed, the release said.
“Foul play is suspected, and the incident is being handled as a homicide at this time,” the Argus Observer reported last May.
Payette police said that with the case now in court, “the Payette Police Department will have no further comment regarding the facts of the case or the evidence.”
