After responding to an alleged assault involving a firearm in Boise on Friday morning, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found the suspect barricaded inside a residence.

That woman is now in the Ada County Jail, facing one felony charge.

Just after 8:30 a.m., deputies responded to a residence near West Highlander Road and South Fruithill Place, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. A 58-year-old Garden Valley woman allegedly pointed a firearm at another person and then fled the scene.

The alleged assailant and victim were known to each other, the release said.

Deputies located the woman at another residence in the 1900 block of East Carol Street in Meridian, where she barricaded herself inside the residence for a short time before surrendering, according to the release.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the jail on suspicion of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to online jail records.
