4 trials later, Boise man convicted of 12 crimes — including rape, lewd conduct
In November 2024, the Boise Police Department sought the public’s help in finding more information about a man arrested on suspicion of rape because they believed there could be more victims.
More women did come forward with allegations against the then-20-year-old Boise man, Isaiah Williams. And now he has been convicted of 12 offenses, including rape, aggravated assault and lewd conduct with a minor.
The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office filed 14 charges against Williams, seven of which stemmed from sexual assault allegations. The others involved aggravated assault and drugs.
After four trials, Williams was found guilty of 12 offenses. Two were dismissed.
His sentencing hearings will be held in April and May. According to Idaho State Code, his most severe charges carry a punishment of up to life in prison.
Detectives believed there were more victims after the first report
On Nov. 19, 2024, Boise police received a report from the victim that a man raped her at his apartment. Shortly after, BPD arrested Williams, who was accused of rape, forcible penetration using a foreign object and possession of marijuana.
The police department sent a news release alerting the public of the arrest and stating detectives obtained information that led them to believe there could be more victims.
Court documents show that in March 2025, a grand jury indicted Williams on the original three charges — plus five more the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office tacked on after other people came forward.
The indictment listed two counts of rape, two counts of forcible penetration using a foreign object, sexual battery, possession of marijuana, delivery of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the document, the sexual assault charges involved three women with incidents that happened in October and November of 2024.
A separate case involving another victim was filed in December 2024. In this one, Williams was accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at a house party in 2022. Williams was charged with lewd conduct with, and sexual abuse of, a child under 16 years old in December 2024. Both are felonies.
According to previous Idaho Statesman reporting, Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Austin Payne alleged in court that Williams met the girl at a party, got her alone and sexually assaulted her. He also knew she was underage, Payne said.
The latest case was filed in April 2025. A woman alleged Williams assaulted her, prevented her from calling for help and then threatened her not to testify against him. That incident occurred in November 2024, according to the criminal complaint.
He was charged with aggravated assault, destruction of evidence, witness intimidation and intentional destruction of a telecommunication line.
The criminal complaint alleges Williams attempted to injure the victim by “placing his hands around her throat and applying pressure,” then took her phone and didn’t “allow her to use ‘Siri’ to call 911 or others for help.” The complaint also alleges Williams intimidated the victim and concealed or destroyed a video that may have been evidence of what happened.
Juries find Williams guilty on all charges except two
All three cases went to trial, and juries found Williams guilty of 12 of the 14 charges.
In the first case, Ada County Judge Lynn Norton split the charges by incident and victim. Two of the three incidents went to trial.
For the first incident reported to police, the jury found Williams guilty of forcible penetration and the drug-related charges in an August 2025 trial but could not come to a unanimous decision on the rape charge. This is known as a partial verdict, where the jury came to a unanimous decision for some of the charges but not all.
Court minutes show that Norton accepted the partial verdict, and the prosecutor had the option to retry Williams for the rape charge, but ultimately decided not to, and it was dismissed.
In the second incident, the jury found Williams guilty in January of rape and forcible penetration of another victim.
Court records show the sexual battery charge involving a third woman was dismissed by the courts in November 2025 and that trial was never held.
In the case involving the minor, a jury found Williams guilty in September 2025 of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and sexual abuse of a child under 16.
And in the case involving aggravated assault, the jury found Williams guilty in October 2025 on all four counts: aggravated assault, destruction of evidence, witness intimidation and intentional destruction of a telecommunication line.
Williams is set for sentencing
Williams will stand before two different judges to receive his sentencings in the next two months.
Norton will handle his sentence at 9 a.m. April 10 in the case that included three incidents. His conviction includes rape and two counts of forcible penetration.
Judge Cynthia Yee-Wallace will pass down his sentence for the case involving aggravated assault and witness intimidation at 9 a.m. May 5. She also will decide the sentence for the case involving a minor at 9 a.m. May 12.
The charges that could carry the heaviest punishment for Williams are rape, forcible penetration and lewd conduct with a minor. The Idaho State Code states those crimes are punishable by no more than life in prison.
