Garden City police are looking for a man suspected of shooting a cat
The Garden City Police Department is looking for a man suspected of animal abuse and firing a gun in city limits.
On Feb. 15, police received a radio call from someone reporting that a white man in his 50s shot a cat while it was locked in a cage, according to a Wednesday press release. Officers responded to the 5100 block of N. Alworth Street to investigate and the release said they were able to identify a suspect: George Gebran, an Eagle resident.
Police said they obtained probable cause for two violations, one for a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, a state code violation, and one for a misdemeanor count of discharging a weapon within city limits, a Garden City violation. On Feb. 27 an arrest warrant was issued for Gebran, according to the release, but as of Wednesday, police have been unable to locate him.
Police are asking for anyone with information on the incident or Gebran’s whereabouts to contact the Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or CrimeStoppers of Idaho at 208-343-COPS or email info@343cops.com.
