Awaiting sentencing in Ada, Boise man arrested in Nampa child sex-crime case

A Boise man was arrested on two felony charges — sexual abuse of a minor and enticing a child through the internet — after an investigation into online communications with a 12-year-old, the Nampa Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Police said Adan Salat, 22, had a “pattern” of misrepresenting his age while communicating with underage girls online, and investigators are concerned that there might be other victims.

Salat recently pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal with Ada County prosecutors, who had charged him with sex crimes involving children in a case dating to February 2024, court records show.

Nampa police said they investigated Salat in 2025, alleging that he had engaged in sexually explicit communications with the 12-year-old from Nampa via social media platforms. Police said evidence suggested Salat was aware of the victim’s age and attempted to meet with the child in person.

An arrest warrant was issued in late December, according to online court records.

Nampa detectives eventually learned about Salat’s case in Ada County, where he originally was charged with three counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16, court records show. He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a minor under 16 in November, and was awaiting sentencing. A status conference is scheduled in that case for Monday.

A Nampa special enforcement team arrested Salat in Boise in the Canyon County case.

“We urge parents to monitor their child’s internet and social media activity frequently,” said Nampa Sgt. Brad Barnum in the release. “Remind your children that predators are out there posing as like-aged children. To help keep them safe, have conversations with your kids about the dangers of sending messages and photos to someone they’ve only met over social media.”

Salat was booked into the Canyon County jail and had bond set at $1 million, online court and jail records show.
