Delivery driver charged with sexual battery in Ada County may have more victims
A man who worked for a food delivery service app in Ada and Canyon counties was arrested for alleged sexual battery of minors, and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office believes there could be more victims.
Akua Wells, 32, was arrested on Nov. 7 and faces four felony counts of sexual battery of a minor 16 or 17 years of age, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The victim was known to Wells, the release said.
As the investigation continued, police said they found an additional possible victim in Boise, and the Boise Police Department is working on that case, according to the release. Law enforcement agencies now believe there could be more victims between the ages of 15 and 17 in both counties, the release said.
The Sheriff’s Office said detectives believe the food-delivery work may have afforded Wells the opportunity to contact or locate potential victims. They said he was known to drive a white 2009 Kia Sedona.
Officials asked anyone with information related to the case to contact the non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790 or email the office at acsotips@adacounty.id.gov.
Wells is being held at the Ada County Jail on $750,000 bond.
