One dead, one hospitalized after shooting at Canyon County home
A shooting at a residence south of Nampa left one person dead and another hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning, according to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said in a news release that the “alleged shooter” was detained at the scene and was cooperating.
At about 10:10 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a family disturbance and of “shots fired” at a home on Main Street in the unincorporated community of Bowmont in Canyon County. Deputies at the scene found a man dead inside the home and a victim who had to be taken to a local hospital, the release said.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the release, and “no additional information” will be released for now, including the identities of the victims and the suspect.
