Boise police arrested a psychiatrist Tuesday for an alleged sex crime against a patient a month ago.

Alexander Wills, 45, of Boise, sexually assaulted a patient on Aug. 29, according to criminal complaint documents. A Boise Police Department news release on Wednesday said Wills “made aggressive physical contact with the victim.” He faces a charge of forcible penetration by use of a foreign object, which is a felony.

Wills owns PERMA Mental Health & Ketamine Clinic, which has clinics in Boise, Nampa and Twin Falls, according to the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office.

Officers arrested Wills this week while conducting a separate investigation involving the suspect, according to the release. Wills failed to appear in court Monday in a 2024 case involving alleged domestic battery and intentionally obstructing a 911 call, court records show, as well as a felony drug charge.

At a hearing in that case, Magistrate Judge Laurie Fortier had ordered Wills to undergo a mental health evaluation to determine whether he was fit to stand trial. The judge delayed a jury trial, which was set to begin this month, until the evaluation was complete.

Police said in the news release that they are concerned Wills could have additional victims. Anyone wanting to make a police report or seek support can call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or the Ada County Victim Services Center at 208-577-4400.

The Boise Police Behavioral Health Response Team is involved to help patients of Wills’ or clients needing assistance with mental health resources or medication. People may connect with them by calling Ada County Dispatch or by calling 988 to be connected with a clinician who can provide referrals.
