Police arrested a Boise woman for allegedly stealing jewelry from her hospice patients.

Officers responded to an initial theft report on Sept. 19 near West Riverside Drive and North Lakemont Lane in Garden City, according to a Garden City Police Department news release.

After an investigation, police alleged that Chyann Janes, 31, stole more than $30,000 worth of jewelry from multiple patients in her care.

Police located and seized several pieces that they say Janes sold to pawn shops. One patient’s husband was able to identify some of them as belonging to his late wife. A pawned ring was identified as belonging to one of Janes’ hospice patients in Star.

Police arrested Janes during a traffic stop on Monday. She was booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of felony burglary and one count of felony grand theft. Janes was set to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ada County Courthouse.
