Police arrested a person suspected of kidnapping a man after luring him to a location with promises of a photography session.

Officers responded to a report at 2 a.m. Friday from a man who said he had been kidnapped by someone he knew, the Eagle Police Department said in a news release.

Police alleged Steen Lamb, 22, of Meridian, lured the victim to a spot in the Eagle Foothills near the Idaho 16 highway “under a false pretense of a photography session.”

Lamb “restrained and battered” the victim once he arrived, police said.

Police booked Lamb in the Ada County Jail on Friday on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping. Second-degree kidnapping indicates the suspect did not seek a ransom.

Rumors circled in local social media groups over the weekend that Lamb was tied to another kidnapping attempt. Lauren Montague, Ada County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, told the Idaho Statesman that law enforcement was aware of the rumors but did not have any information connecting that allegation to Lamb.

Star police initially responded to the victim’s call, but Eagle police took over after learning the crime took place in their area.

Eagle police said the investigation was ongoing. The department encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact Eagle Police Detective Ryan Pacheco at 208-577-3734.
