An Idaho woman could face prison time after law enforcement said she intentionally ran over a man she knew over the weekend.

The Nampa Police Department arrested Miranda Fay Reese, 40, of Caldwell, after responding to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of 11th Avenue North in Nampa, according to a news release from the agency. The male victim was taken to a local hospital by paramedics with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Reese, who was identified as the driver, was arrested and booked into the Canyon County jail, the release said. She was charged with felony aggravated battery and an enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, according to online court records.

Third Judicial District Magistrate Judge Matthew Thompson set her bond at $1 million during a hearing Tuesday afternoon, records showed. Her next hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 15 at the Canyon County Courthouse, where her public defender is expected to argue for a lower bail.

Nampa police are still investigating the incident, the release said.
