Armed robber made skateboard escape, Boise police say, but now he’s in jail
Boise police arrested an 18-year-old Boise resident Wednesday for allegedly committing armed robbery at a business before escaping with the money on a skateboard.
A man entered a gas station in the 800 block of South Cole Road at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, approached two employees and demanded money from the cash register after pulling out a knife, the Boise Police Department said Thursday in a news release.
Police said the suspect took the cash and fled — slowly but surely.
Law enforcement eventually identified the suspect, and neighborhood contact officers located him and took him into custody without incident three days after the crime.
“During his arrest, officers located drugs and a large quantity of drug paraphernalia intended for both illegal drug use and sales in his bag,” police said in the release.
The Boise Police Department said officers found additional evidence related to the robbery at his home near South Maple Grove Road and West Emerald Street.
The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on two felony charges that were a result of warrants: robbery and an enhancement for use of a deadly weapon. He also was charged with two controlled substance felonies, as well as a drug paraphernalia misdemeanor.
The Boise man was still being held at the jail as of Thursday afternoon.
