Meridian parking lot confrontation led to stabbing. Police arrested a woman

Police arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing another woman in a Meridian parking lot last week.

Law enforcement looked into the incident after hospital staff notified them that a woman was dropped off at St. Luke’s emergency room with “what appeared to be multiple stab wounds,” the Meridian Police Department said in a news release.

Preliminary evidence indicated that Tera Suarez, 44, of Meridian, injured the victim during a confrontation in the early morning hours of April 24 in the 2100 block of South Meridian Road, according to police.

Police booked Suarez into the Ada County Jail at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of felony aggravated battery that caused great bodily harm, as well as a probation violation, according to jail records.

The victim has been released from the hospital after treatment for her injuries, according to police.

“Meridian Police remain committed to pursuing justice and ensuring the safety of our community,” the Meridian Police Department said in the release. “We would like to thank the Garden City Police Department and the Boise Police Department for their assistance with today’s arrest.”
