A Nampa man was sentenced to almost 16 years in prison after he threatened a victim with a gun, and stole his car and other belongings, according to a news release.

Jordan Davis, 34, entered a home in Nampa last July and pointed a gun at a man’s head, the release said. Law enforcement later found Davis driving a stolen vehicle, but Davis didn’t stop and led officers on a high-speed chase, the release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Officers performed a maneuver to stop the vehicle and saw Davis holding a gun, according to the release.

“Davis refused to comply with officers’ repeated commands to drop the firearm and get out of the car,” the release said. “After a nearly 20-minute standoff involving multiple law enforcement agencies, Davis eventually surrendered.”

Davis was sentenced for carjacking and for the unlawful possession of a firearm, the release said.

After his prison time — 188 months — Davis will serve three years of supervised release. He will have to pay $37,000 in restitution, the release said.
