Nampa police arrived at burning home, found attack victim. A man has been charged
Police charged a man with attempted murder and arson after what they called a violent attack in Nampa on Monday.
Officers responded at 7:14 p.m. to a call from the 1000 block of 3rd Street North, where they found a mobile home on fire and a victim with serious injuries, the Nampa Police Department said in a Tuesday news release.
They found 45-year-old Steven Delisle Jr., of Nampa, near the residence and detained him, and police alleged that Delisle “attacked a victim known to him at the residence and set fire to the home during a dispute.”
The Nampa Fire Department extinguished the blaze, and Canyon County Paramedics transferred the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
“(Delisle) was also transferred to an area hospital for medical evaluation due to self-inflicted injuries,” police said.
Jail records show Delisle was charged with two felonies, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree arson, as well as a misdemeanor for destruction, alteration, or concealment of evidence.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Delisle was being held on a $1 million bond in the Ada County Jail in Boise and awaiting a transfer to the Canyon County jail.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and addressing such acts of violence with the utmost diligence,” Nampa Police Detective Noah Monroe said in the release.
