Police seek additional victims after arresting Nampa man for child sexual exploitation

Nampa police are seeking additional victims after arresting a man for child sex crimes.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained a warrant to arrest 74-year-old Nampa resident Antonio Berrelez on 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, the Nampa Police Department said in a Monday evening news release.

Berrelez turned himself in at the Nampa Police Station at 4 p.m. Monday, and officers took him into custody, according to police.

Detectives “fear there may be other victims,” the release said. All known incidents of exploitation took place mid-2024 in the 200 block of 14th Ave N. in Nampa, according to police.

“If your child has had contact with Berrelez, we ask that you talk to them to see if anything inappropriate may have occurred,” police said.

Incidents can be reported by calling Nampa Dispatch at 208-465-2257, option 1.

“The bravery of children involved in crimes like this is astounding. We are honored to work with the families to try to bring some peace and closure during the criminal process,” Nampa Detective Jonathan Styles said in the release. “The actions of Antonio Berrelez have no place in our communities, and we hope for a strong sentencing.”

Berrelez is being held at the Canyon County Jail on a $2 million bond.
