A Boise man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault after he attacked someone he lived with, the Boise Police Department said in a news release.

Boise police responded Friday afternoon to a report of a stabbing. Officers found a victim, who was taken to the hospital but died shortly after. The suspect, 35-year-old Scott Stevens, was taken into custody quickly.

Stevens’ official charges do not yet appear on the state’s court records system.

“A preliminary investigation showed that the suspect and the victim knew each other and were living in a home with other adults,” the release said. “Evidence shows that two other adults in the home attempted to intervene and were threatened by the suspect while he was holding a weapon.”

Police say the attack appears to have been unprovoked and the weapon was found at the scene.
