Man in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds after shooting in Caldwell

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in Caldwell, according to a news release.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived in the 5000 block of Lake Avenue to find a 44-year-old man with “multiple gunshot wounds,” the release said. First responders transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim and suspected shooter know each other, the release said, and the sheriff’s office believes the shooting was an isolated incident. Anyone with possible information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff’s non-emergency dispatch line at 208-454-7531.

The sheriff’s office did not respond to the Idaho Statesman’s questions and said it was not releasing additional information at this time.
