The Boise Police Department is investigating a vandalism incident at Capital High School that caused thousands of dollars in damage.

According to a news release, two vehicles entered the Capital High School parking lot last Friday at about 11:15 p.m. The cars caused major damage after driving recklessly on the school’s softball and football fields, police said.

Capital High School’s fields are in unplayable condition, and plans are in place to reschedule football practices and games, the release said. The field is not used for varsity football games.

The suspects have not been identified, but Capital High School surveillance cameras captured photos of two vehicles. One of the cars was described as a dark-colored Chevrolet Avalanche or Honda Ridgeline. The second vehicle appears to be a light-colored late-1990s model sedan.
