A 22-year old Nampa woman was charged with felony aggravated battery after allegedly stabbing a man near Boise’s Whitewater Park neighborhood on Tuesday, an incident that prompted nearby schools to temporarily shelter in place, according to police.
An adult man, who was known to the suspect, is in stable condition after he was rushed to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injures, according to a news release from police.
At 10 a.m., Boise police responded to a reported stabbing near the 900 block of N. 27th St., according to a tweet from the department. Four schools sheltered in place for 20 minutes at the time the incident was reported, police said.
Those schools were Lowell Elementary School, Madison Early Childhood Center, Whittier Elementary School and St. Mary’s School, Boise police spokesperson Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman by text.
Officers began searching for a female suspect after preliminary information from officers indicated she had fled the scene, police said. A woman matching the description was located near Whitewater Park Boulevard and taken into custody, according to the release.
