Idaho State Police is investigating a collision in Nampa that left a 64-year-old pedestrian dead Wednesday night, according to a news release from the department.

At 7:12 p.m., a 46-year-old man driving westbound collided with a male pedestrian near the intersection of Karcher and Sundance roads, according to state police. Police said he was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon.

The pedestrian died at the scene due to his injuries. The driver was not injured and is fully cooperating, state police spokesperson Lynn Hightower told the Idaho Statesman. Hightower did not release his name or custody status.

The westbound lanes of travel on Karcher Road were blocked for over three hours.
