UPDATE: Suspect arrested after battery of student reported near South Junior High
UPDATE: Boise Police have identified the suspect accused of assaulting a student on Oct. 1 near Overland Road and Owyhee Street.
Waseem Sardar, 48, of Boise, has been charged on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.
Police say they found evidence that Sardar approached a student and made “unwanted contact with her including hugging and kissing her” without consent.
There is no indication that the suspect attempted to get the child to go with him. Sardar was arrested on the warrant without incident Friday and booked into the Ada County Jail, police said.

Boise Police are trying to identify a man who is accused of approaching a child near South Junior High and touching the student on Thursday.
The student was walking at around 2:20 p.m. near Overland Road and Owyhee Street when the stranger approached, according to police. The student was able to walk away and reported the incident to the school.
The man is described as having a dark complexion, brown hair, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall and 220 pounds. He was seen driving an early 2000s model, black BMW.
